The IT Support Technician at Jordan School District plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive technical support across various educational facilities. Under the supervision of the support services manager and lead technician, this position is responsible for the installation and setup of individual computers and networked labs, as well as software installation and documentation preparation. The technician will provide training, assistance, and troubleshooting for all user-reported technical issues, ensuring that technology-based instructional systems in labs, media centers, classrooms, and administrative offices function smoothly. As a Level II technician, the IT Support Technician will troubleshoot and maintain all technology and related systems, including hardware, software, and peripheral devices. Regular visits to assigned schools and locations are required to provide in-person and remote technical support, training, and assistance to district personnel. The technician will install and configure individual computers, computer labs, and peripheral devices, ensuring basic connectivity and communication to the network and server as needed. In addition to technical support, the technician will conduct training sessions for teachers and staff on the proper use of computer systems and software. Responsibilities also include tracking hardware and software licensing, performing backup and retrieval processes, and researching technology needs to recommend replacements for outdated systems.
