About the position

The IT Support Technician at 2020 Exhibits is responsible for providing technical support and assistance to employees regarding computer and network systems. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining technical documentation, and ensuring the security and privacy of computer systems. The technician will work both independently and collaboratively with other IT staff to resolve technical challenges and support the organization's IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as the initial point of contact for IT support within the organization.
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining software and hardware components of computer and network systems.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
  • Supporting employees with challenges related to computers and network devices.
  • Maintaining and updating technical documentation regularly.
  • Testing new hardware and software before full-scale installation.
  • Assisting with technical difficulties via call-ins or live chat.
  • Maintaining computer systems and other technologies in a business setting.
  • Performing tests on new hardware and software.
  • Overseeing security and privacy of computer systems.
  • Keeping records and logs of repairs and maintenance schedules.
  • Detecting computer shortages and submitting for approval.
  • Collaborating with other IT Technicians to install hardware and troubleshoot issues.
  • Responding to IT questions from company employees and updating malware protection devices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering or related field, preferred.
  • 2-5 years of IT experience or a similar role.
  • Experience troubleshooting systems.
  • Skilled in database programming and software installation.
  • Proficient in MS Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiar with a range of software and hardware.
  • Willing to travel to other locations.
