About the position

The IT Support Technician role is a contract position focused on providing first-level support for software, hardware, and telephony systems. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting issues, managing a ticketing system, and ensuring client satisfaction through effective communication and problem resolution. This position requires a strong technical background and the ability to work with various IT assets and applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level support and escalate issues to Tier 2 and Tier 3 IT specialists as needed.
• Diagnose problems in desktop and network infrastructures using analytical skills.
• Manage and monitor the ticketing system (Cherwell) for timely responses and proper ticket assignment.
• Demonstrate technical proficiency in applications such as Cisco Communications, VPN software, Active Directory, Windows OS, and Microsoft Office.
• Execute hardware and software deployments, including system upgrades and installations.
• Understand network fundamentals and enforce cybersecurity measures.
• Utilize Microsoft Intune for device and application management across mobile ecosystems.
• Conduct technical research and develop documentation to enhance service desk efficiency.
• Proactively manage service requests and multitask effectively.
• Perform additional duties to support the IT department's objectives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• 3 years of experience in PC configuration.
• 3 years of experience in installation technician roles.
• 3 years of experience in ticketing system management.
• 3 years of experience in network and security management.
• A+ or Network+ Certification or MTA Certification (required).
