About the position

The IT Support Technician at MACOM plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of IT services across the organization. This position involves troubleshooting and resolving a variety of user desktop issues, including hardware, software, access, security, and business applications. The technician will be responsible for escalating more complex issues to Tier 3 support as necessary, ensuring that all user concerns are addressed promptly and effectively. In addition to troubleshooting, the IT Support Technician will build, maintain, and deploy end-user system images on various devices, manage all work through the service desk ticketing system, and provide remote support for both US and international offices. The role requires adherence to defined processes while keeping pace with the fast growth of the business, which may involve assisting in the development and documentation of improvements to current processes. Training is also a key component of this position, as the technician will conduct one-on-one and small group training sessions for end users on supported technologies. Furthermore, the technician will assist in the ordering, receiving, storage, deployment, and retirement of PC assets, and will collaborate with third-party vendors to enhance the functions of Internal IT. Periodic travel to other company locations may be required as part of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve user desktop issues (hardware/software/access/security/business applications)

Requirements

  • 4+ years related IT Support experience
  • Great interpersonal & customer service skills
  • Windows 10 troubleshooting
  • Experience with one or more PC Imaging tools (e.g., Ghost, Acronis, SCCM, LANDesk, KACE)
  • Good analytical problem solving skills
  • Experience working from a help desk management system
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Comfortable switching quickly between tasks
  • Demonstrates strong work ethic
  • Ability to adjust to unforeseen challenges
