In this role, you will perform a mixture of help desk, field service, and staffing duties for our managed service clients. You will be responsible for tracking all time in our ticketing system, traveling to client sites to resolve issues, collaborating with a team on various projects, and managing a queue of support requests. The position offers the chance to work across a diverse range of environments, allowing you to enhance your knowledge and skillsets continuously. The IT Support Technician will be tasked with responding to customer support tickets promptly, providing concierge-level technical support, documenting resolutions to support requests daily, and escalating tickets as necessary. You will install, migrate, and manage Windows Server environments (2012/2016/2019) and provide both on-site and remote support for issues ranging from simple desktop configurations to complex network troubleshooting, including firewall implementation and support for Windows Server, Azure, and Exchange Online. Effective communication with clients via phone and email is essential, as is the ability to explain resolutions, answer questions, and provide professional advice as needed. Additionally, you will actively collaborate in the development and maintenance of IT Support processes and travel to deploy machines or support customer-level efforts as required.

Responsibilities

  • Responding to customer support tickets promptly and providing concierge-level technical support.
  • Documenting resolutions to support requests daily and escalating tickets as needed.
  • Installing, migrating, and managing Windows Server environments (2012/2016/2019).
  • Providing on-site and remote support for issues ranging from desktop configuration to network troubleshooting.
  • Communicating effectively with clients via phone and email, responding to all requests and concerns in a timely fashion.
  • Explaining resolutions, answering questions, and providing professional advice as needed.
  • Collaborating in the development and maintenance of IT Support processes.
  • Traveling to deploy machines, perform staffing functions, or support other customer-level efforts.
  • Supporting disaster recovery solutions and identifying infrastructure system needs.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in help desk support.
  • Basic technical support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security.
  • Advanced understanding of operating systems, business applications, printing systems, and network systems.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, MS 365, and Online Exchange.
  • Knowledge of virtualization (VMware or Hyper-V).
  • Firewall configuration and management experience.
  • Proficiency in Windows 7, 8, & 10 and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Microsoft/Apple/CompTIA certifications (A+, N+, Security+, MCSA, MCP, ACP).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Azure and Exchange Online.
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery solutions.
  • Experience in a managed service environment.
