About the position

The IT Field Support Technician will serve as the first point of contact for IT support at various WSSC Depot locations. This role involves providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, cloud services, hardware, and software, ensuring that end-users receive effective IT services. The technician will be responsible for maintaining and operating computer systems and networks, diagnosing issues, and ensuring the security of client and server computers.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for IT support for WSSC Depot.
  • Install, configure, and maintain software and hardware components of computer and network systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot software and hardware issues.
  • Repair and replace damaged computer and network components.
  • Ensure the security of client and server computers by installing and upgrading antivirus and firewall software.
  • Support users encountering challenges with computers and network devices.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation regularly.
  • Test new hardware and software before full-scale installation.

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent; associates degree preferred.
  • 2 years of general experience in IT support.
  • Experience in Active Directory, Windows OS, SCCM, and ITIL methodologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year of experience in computer hardware repair (preferred).
  • 1 year of experience in technical support (preferred).
  • 1 year of experience in software troubleshooting (preferred).
  • Strong customer service skills.
