About the position

The System Developer Manager will oversee and troubleshoot issues related to the Vehicle Processing Center (VPC) IT System, ensuring the continuous operation of the Automotive Manufacturing plant in GEA Savannah, GA. This role involves developing software, maintaining systems, and managing hardware installations to enhance the functionality of existing VPC systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software to assist with the monitoring of shops.
  • Develop software to add or enhance functionality with current VPC systems.
  • Install hardware and software.
  • Maintain and install equipment and configurations for the MES network.
  • Develop and maintain secondary software for environmental data gathering and assembly repair reports.
  • Perform purchasing duties for hardware, software, and services to complete tasks/projects.
  • Maintain assigned systems within VPC.
  • Design and implement Kubernetes clusters that are scalable, highly available, and secure.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for provisioning, scaling, and managing Kubernetes environments.
  • Ensure systems are running smoothly.
  • Troubleshoot root causes of system issues.
  • Install hardware and software for enhancements to existing systems.
  • Generate ideas for system improvement.
  • Run reports for customers for data in assigned systems.
  • Create procedures and documentation for the VPC.
  • Train IVELES/VEHICLE LOCATION MANAGE. SYSTEM Technicians and Users.
  • Communicate with Clients to meet the organization's needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 8+ years experience in the VPC IT field or experience working on projects as a lead developer
  • Any Certifications related to MES are a plus
  • Certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) are highly desirable
  • Ability to support 24 X 7
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent Analytical Skills and problem-solving skills
  • Good documentation skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications Preferred: A+, Microsoft Certifications (MCPD, MCITP, MCTS)
  • Basic knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logical Controller)
  • Intermediate knowledge of business processes related to MES.
