About the position

The IT System Support Specialist I is responsible for providing Tier II support to employees, focusing on troubleshooting and resolving moderately complex technology issues, particularly in the Audio/Visual domain. This role involves maintaining computer systems, performing routine hardware and software maintenance, and managing audio-visual systems across Williamson County. The position requires effective communication and technical skills to assist users and support technology system enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and support on a wide range of computers and peripherals to resolve moderately complex technology issues.
• Perform routine day-to-day hardware and software maintenance and assist users in the proper upkeep of their systems.
• Evaluate existing computer systems and recommend hardware or software upgrades.
• Maintain detailed, documented reports of service requests and projects completed.
• Support a designated team with development, implementation, testing, and enhancements of technology systems.
• Manage audio-visual systems and video camera systems across the County.

Requirements

• Vocational/technical diploma or certificate and two (2) years of job-related experience; or three (3) years of job-related experience.
• Working knowledge of specific job-related technology.
• Possess and maintain a personally-owned mobile device capable of receiving calls, text messages, and emails.
• Valid driver's license required within thirty (30) days of employment.

Nice-to-haves

• Technology certification in area of responsibility.
• Working knowledge in areas of technology software, hardware, data, methodologies, frameworks, and infrastructure.
