About the position

The IT Systems Administrator / Software Engineer at ManTech is responsible for evaluating and updating integrated data environments for mission-assurance and launch-verification software applications. This role involves maintaining administrative privileges on USG-provided laptops and virtual servers, troubleshooting access and operational issues, and supporting military leads in maintaining computer equipment accuracy. The position requires a strong background in software engineering and IT systems administration, particularly within the DoD or NASA environments.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and update a fully integrated data environment for mission-assurance and launch-verification software applications.
  • Evaluate and update a Software System Requirements Specification and Software System Design Specification.
  • Provide system-level evaluation of mission assurance and launch verification software, including oversight of structure, training development, and system maintenance.
  • Review and update mission assurance data in the SLD 30 databases, including System Software Implementation Plan and System Security Guide.
  • Evaluate and update all non-system and system software documentation, including Software User Manual and database management plan.
  • Compile required information relevant to scheduled mission critical milestones.
  • Perform SQL server database configuration engineering and programming for launch operations and anomaly resolution.
  • Evaluate and update a SLD 30 software solution for real-time generation of Operational Mission Data.
  • Create products utilizing DoD Platform One applications for communications and project management solutions.
  • Work directly with engineers and leadership to understand JIRA/Confluence needs and provide solutions.
  • Design and implement dashboards for operational/performance reporting metrics.
  • Develop workflows, customizations, and integrations to support management on behalf of product teams.
  • Coach and mentor information owners on implementing JIRA/Confluence and associated plugins.
  • Set-up and manage user permissions and project roles for JIRA/Confluence accounts.
  • Create business rules for optimal use of JIRA/Confluence products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 1.5 years of DoD Launch/Range Software Engineering experience accepted in lieu of each 1 year of degree.
  • 2 years as a Software Engineer, programmer, or software developer, with at least 1 year of NSSL, Launch/Range, DoD, or NASA experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with network-based and stand-alone audio-visual systems.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office productivity and development applications, including VBA and Microsoft Power Platform products.
