About the position

The Systems Analyst II formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on user needs. This role requires a good understanding of industry requirements and applicable clinical, business, and infrastructure systems, particularly those that process confidential patient information and quality improvement data protected by federal and/or state law. The analyst is responsible for devising or modifying systems to solve complex problems, taking into account computer equipment capacity, capabilities, limitations, cost-effectiveness, and desired results. In this position, the analyst provides comprehensive analysis of clinical, business, and user needs, as well as regulatory and documentation requirements. They translate these requirements into proper system requirement specifications that are suitable for the technical staff. The Systems Analyst II leads information technology deployment and optimization efforts based on the organization's clinical, infrastructure, and business performance improvement objectives. They also provide clinical, technical, and/or business subject matter expertise to translate data into actionable information and knowledge that can be utilized in daily practice. Additionally, the Systems Analyst II is required to be certified in one or more Epic modules as dictated by the role.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and define systems scope and objectives based on user needs.
  • Devise or modify systems to solve complex problems considering equipment capacity and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide analysis of clinical, business, and user needs, regulatory requirements, and documentation requirements.
  • Translate requirements into proper system specifications for technical staff.
  • Lead IT deployment and optimization efforts based on performance improvement objectives.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to translate data into actionable knowledge.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years working with clinical and/or financial applications in a healthcare environment preferred, or 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated progressive experience with information systems, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong analytic and organizational skills, particularly in planning, communications, and problem-solving.
  • Proven ability to work with nursing, clinical providers, and technical/business professionals.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of users with varying levels of computer expertise.
  • Experience and/or certification in configuring Epic is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Current experience and/or certification in configuring Epic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Meditech if applicable to the position.
