About the position

ManTech International is seeking a motivated and customer-oriented IT Systems Analyst II to join our team in Washington, DC. This position plays a crucial role in supporting our national security initiatives while working on innovative projects that provide opportunities for career advancement. As an IT Systems Analyst II, you will be an integral part of a diverse team, contributing to the development and analysis of computer software that encompasses a wide range of engineering, business, and records management functions. You will be responsible for developing plans for automated information systems from project inception to conclusion, ensuring that user interfaces are analyzed, and hardware and software performance is optimized. In this role, you will analyze existing requirements and prepare specifications for hardware and software acquisitions, conduct site surveys to assess current network configurations, and design optimized network topologies. You will also be involved in configuring computers and communications devices, installing network hardware and software, and training site personnel in the proper use of these systems. Your responsibilities will extend to performing first-line support for service interruptions and escalating unresolved issues to expedite resolution. The IT Systems Analyst II will also be responsible for formulating and enforcing work standards, supervising contractor personnel, and ensuring the overall performance of the contract. You will devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems, prepare detailed specifications for programming, and have full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming. This position requires a good understanding of the business or function for which applications are designed, making it essential to collaborate closely with programmers and functional users to develop alternative solutions and ensure proper implementation of program and system specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and develop computer software for engineering, business, and records management functions.
  • Develop plans for automated information systems from project inception to conclusion.
  • Analyze user interfaces and maintain hardware and software performance tuning.
  • Analyze workload and computer usage, maintain interfaces with outside systems, and analyze downtimes.
  • Define problems and develop system requirements and program specifications.
  • Coordinate closely with programmers to ensure proper implementation of specifications.
  • Conduct site surveys and assess current site network configuration and user requirements.
  • Design and optimize network topologies.
  • Prepare specifications for hardware/software acquisitions and engineering plans.
  • Develop hardware/software installation schedules and prepare drawings documenting configuration changes.
  • Configure computers, communications devices, and peripheral equipment.
  • Install network hardware/software and train site personnel in proper use.
  • Perform first line support for service interruptions and escalate unresolved problems.
  • Formulate and enforce work standards, assign contractor schedules, and supervise contractor personnel.
  • Develop, analyze, evaluate, and improve work methods and procedures.

Requirements

  • 2 years of position-specific experience.
  • High School Diploma.
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with network configuration and optimization.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies.
  • Knowledge of programming languages and software development life cycle.
