About the position

The IT Systems Analyst III - Corporate Solutions is a pivotal role within the organization, responsible for formulating and defining systems scope and objectives based on user needs and applicable business systems and industry requirements. This position requires a deep understanding of the application and the ability to solve unique problems within that application. The Systems Analyst III will be tasked with identifying new applications and functionality areas to build expertise, ensuring that the organization remains at the forefront of technology solutions that meet business needs. In this role, the analyst will conduct software design, development, and maintenance of utilities and applications to address specific business problems. This includes assisting in the planning and analysis of high-level software strategies and solutions, as well as managing upgrades. A significant aspect of the position involves planning, development, and support for application interfaces with Epic, a leading healthcare software platform. The Systems Analyst III will also play a crucial role in fostering a collaborative team environment, looking for opportunities to increase knowledge sharing among IT department members and with partners and customers. This includes providing training and coaching to less experienced analysts and working directly with end-users to resolve technology issues that arise during daily operations. The analyst will interact with team members, physicians, and end-users to understand business problems and identify effective solutions, ensuring that workflows and system functionalities meet the needs of the organization. Additionally, the analyst will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, escalating, and resolving critical initiative risks and issues, defining and communicating project standards and guidelines, and documenting system requirements, release notes, test plans, and training documentation as required by the project delivery methodology. Continuous improvement within the IT department is a key focus, ensuring that every business customer has a positive experience when approaching IT for support.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for at least one functionality area or application, solving unique problems within that application.
  • Conduct software design, development, and maintenance of utilities and applications to solve specific business problems.
  • Assist in planning and analyzing high-level software strategies and solutions through functional and technical expertise, including planning and managing upgrades.
  • Plan, develop, and support application interfaces with Epic.
  • Foster a team environment and increase knowledge sharing among IT department members and with partners and customers.
  • Provide training and coaching to other IT department members, including Analysts I and II.
  • Work with end-users to address and resolve technology issues arising from daily operational use of supported hardware and software solutions.
  • Support and mentor less-technical and/or less-experienced system and business analysts during system design and maintenance.
  • Interact directly with team members, physicians, and end-users to understand business problems and identify solutions.
  • Help end-users understand defined workflows and system functionality.
  • Identify when new workflows or functionality are required to meet individual needs of end-users.
  • Identify, analyze, escalate, and resolve critical initiative risks and issues.
  • Define and communicate project standards and guidelines around applications and workflows.
  • Document system requirements, release notes, test plans, training documentation, etc. as required by project delivery methodology.
  • Coordinate with other administrative and support teams within DMG, such as compliance and patient accounts.
  • Focus on continuous improvement within the IT department and ensure a positive experience for every business customer approaching IT.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or 4 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; Master's Degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in an IT application development role, or 9 years without a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience with SQL Server, SSIS, IIS, SharePoint is beneficial but not required.
  • Project management experience is required.
  • Previous experience demonstrating process improvements is necessary.
  • Healthcare experience is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of multi-tier application design and concepts is essential.
  • Familiarity with database design and usage is important.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills are required.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization are necessary.
  • Ability to maintain composure and clarity of thought under pressure is crucial.
  • Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment is expected.
  • Desire to identify and drive change initiatives within the organization is important.
  • Interpersonal flexibility is required.
  • Knowledge of HL7 is helpful.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Strong ability to manage application projects is essential.
