About the position

The IT Systems Analyst position is a mid-level technical role focused on supporting the City's Police Department and its enterprise hardware, software, and network infrastructure. The analyst will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading various systems, including mobile devices, desktops, laptops, and network equipment, while working under the supervision of the IT Manager. The role requires a strong understanding of IT support processes and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Support, maintain, and upgrade Police mobile systems and City desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, printers, and copiers.
  • Monitor, maintain, and repair all computers, laptops, tablets, copiers, printers, and related network equipment.
  • Assist in configuring, imaging, and replacing computers and laptops using standard deployment methods.
  • Receive and create work orders, ensuring timely completion and documentation.
  • Work with network technicians to analyze and correct network problems.
  • Set up and configure IP network phones in collaboration with telecommunications.
  • Support the City's mobile workforce through installation and maintenance of wireless devices.
  • Assist with creating, maintaining, and removing active directory user and computer accounts.
  • Modify and document enterprise security for computers, files, folders, and active directory groups.
  • Monitor and resolve networked devices for malware, spyware, and viruses.
  • Track and log software licenses in accordance with the City's enterprise licensing agreements.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all City-wide technology equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience with personal computer operations and technical support.
  • Ability to move and install moderately heavy computer equipment, up to 50lbs in weight.
  • Ability to understand complex oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and vendors.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience with IT support in a public safety agency.
  • A+ certification within six (6) months of employment.
  • Microsoft certification courses for applicable systems.
