About the position

The IT Systems Analyst is responsible for managing the ITS Computer Helpdesk, responding to IT work orders, and collaborating with team members on various projects within Associated Students of SDSU. This role serves as the IT liaison for the Computer Round Table representatives, oversees the daily tasks of Computer Technicians, and ensures the maintenance of IT documentation and resources. The analyst will also install, troubleshoot, and repair IT hardware and software, while facilitating vendor interactions for warranty services.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the ITS Computer Helpdesk and respond to IT work orders.
  • Assign daily tasks to Computer Technicians and prioritize help desk tickets.
  • Maintain the A.S. ITS calendar, wiki, and computer maps, ensuring IT documentation is current.
  • Complete monthly IT checklists in a timely manner.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair IT hardware and software.
  • Coordinate hardware and software deployments with CRT representatives and users.
  • Label IT resources with inventory tags and manage accounting paperwork for tracking purposes.
  • Support the setup of access control systems and surveillance systems.
  • Maintain the organization's IT inventory database and update tracking information.
  • Coordinate IT inventory disposals and conduct annual internal IT inventory audits.
  • Assist the Senior Systems Analyst in supervising IT Technicians.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Two years of vocational training in IT Hardware/Software preferred.
  • Two years of experience troubleshooting IT hardware and software issues in an enterprise-level network environment required.
  • Advanced working knowledge of current desktop operating systems: Windows 10-11, macOS (12-14) required.
  • Experience supporting an Active Directory and eDirectory environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Industry-recognized IT technical certifications such as CompTIA A+/Net+/Security+, Microsoft MD-102, Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a computer help desk environment preferred.
  • Experience with Trellix (McAfee) Endpoint Security, Windows Defender, Microsoft Intune, Google Workspace, osTicket Help Desk Software, and Adobe Creative Suite is highly desired.
