About the position

The IT Systems Analyst at TipTop Turnkey will play a crucial role in the software development lifecycle by working closely with project managers, product owners, and subject matter experts. This position requires a strong focus on requirements gathering and facilitating the discovery process to ensure that functional requirements and acceptance criteria are well-documented and communicated effectively to the software development teams. The analyst will be responsible for creating user stories, epics, and features that guide the development process, ensuring that all stakeholders have a clear understanding of the project goals and deliverables. In this role, the analyst will need to quickly acquire a deep functional knowledge of the systems in question, enabling them to ask insightful questions and lead discussions that clarify project requirements. They will assist customers in articulating their needs in a clear and understandable manner, working collaboratively with testers and customer representatives to identify and verify acceptance criteria. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as the analyst will be required to present concepts and requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences. The position operates within an Agile development framework, requiring the analyst to adapt to changing project requirements and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The analyst will work under the general supervision of the Project Manager, exercising initiative and independent judgment to drive project success. This hybrid role allows for two days of onsite work per week, with the remaining time being remote, providing flexibility while maintaining team collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Gather functional requirements from product owners and subject matter experts.
  • Facilitate the discovery process for software development projects.
  • Document functional requirements and acceptance criteria for sprint teams.
  • Communicate requirements to software development teams through epics, features, and user stories.
  • Lead sprint planning and grooming sessions.
  • Collaborate with IT development teams to analyze and elaborate on epics/features.
  • Decompose features into user stories defining both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Analyze and design process and data flows from upstream to downstream systems.
  • Review, evaluate, and test software, documenting findings for technical and non-technical staff.
  • Write and analyze simple ad hoc queries.

Requirements

  • 7 years of experience in requirements gathering and preparing user stories for software development projects.
  • 7 years of experience leading sprint planning and grooming sessions.
  • 7 years of experience collaborating with product owners and IT development teams.
  • 7 years of experience analyzing and designing process and data flows.
  • 7 years of experience working in an Agile methodology project team environment.
  • 7 years of experience reviewing, evaluating, and testing software.
  • 7 years of hands-on analysis and experience with Java and REST APIs.
  • 7 years of experience in effective communication with all levels of staff.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5 years of experience with Oracle procedures and functions, Oracle forms and reports, and/or microservices.
  • 5 years of experience working with project and collaboration tools such as JIRA.
