About the position

The IT Systems Analyst position at EMCOR Group, Inc. is a remote role that plays a crucial part in supporting a wide variety of operating companies within the organization. This position is particularly focused on providing on-premise assistance during mergers and acquisitions, ensuring that technology and security implementations are effectively facilitated across both existing and newly acquired entities. The IT Systems Analyst will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise, as well as liaising with Senior IT Directors to enhance technology and security measures throughout the company. In this role, the IT Systems Analyst will engage with both new and existing operating companies, addressing sophisticated IT challenges as they emerge. The analyst will conduct IT assessments to evaluate best practices, security solutions, and the overall health of the IT environment. Close collaboration with IT and Executive management is essential for the design, budgeting, and implementation of technology solutions. The analyst will also provide critical support services to Directors and Senior Directors, participating in a large IT community to address problems that may affect multiple stakeholders. The position requires active participation in time-sensitive initiatives during mergers and acquisitions, where the analyst will design and implement solutions based on their experience and a list of approved vendors. Compliance with Corporate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and industry best practices is a key responsibility, ensuring that all operating companies meet EMCOR's standards. Given the nature of the role, frequent travel—upwards of 50% of the year—throughout the United States is expected to assist various EMCOR companies.

Responsibilities

  • Work with new and existing operating companies with sophisticated IT challenges as they arise.
  • Assist with conducting IT assessments as it relates to best practices, security solutions and overall health of environment.
  • Work closely with IT and Executive management in design, budget and implementation of technology.
  • Provide critical support services to Directors and Senior Directors within the organization.
  • Participate in a large IT community to solve problems that may impact others.
  • Assist with time sensitive initiatives during mergers and acquisitions.
  • Design and implement solutions based on experience as well as from a long list of approved vendors.
  • Ensure Operating Company compliance with Corporate SOPs and industry best practices.
  • Frequent travel (upwards of 50% of year) throughout the United States assisting EMCOR companies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent work experience.
  • Seven years of previous technology design, implementation and troubleshooting experience.
  • Practical hands-on IT and Security experience including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, PowerShell, Server OS, Virtualization, Backups, IT Asset management, BCP, Endpoint Protection, Cloud, etc.
  • Experience with a wide variety of Security and IT technologies and willingness to stay in front of emerging technologies.
  • Healthy understanding of network routing and firewall functionality.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a remote position and travel as needed.
