About the position

The IT Systems Architect 5 position at nou Systems, Inc. involves leading the modernization of the Launch and Test Range Systems for the United States Space Force. The role focuses on developing enterprise strategies, translating them into system designs, and overseeing the implementation of new technologies to enhance operational capabilities. The position requires a strong technical background and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams to ensure compliance with enterprise architecture policies and successful project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of an enterprise strategy to accomplish USSF goals at SLD 30 WR and SLD 45 ER.
  • Translate the enterprise strategy into future enterprise system design/architecture.
  • Develop a transition plan (roadmap) to move from the existing architecture to the future architecture.
  • Research and advise on the selection of technologies to include within the enterprise architecture.
  • Design, develop, and maintain current and future views and data describing the enterprise architecture.
  • Interact within the enterprise governance process to assist in the implementation of the transition plan.
  • Provide oversight for the development and maintenance of quality programs, systems, processes, and procedures to ensure enterprise architecture policy compliance.
  • Work with the DTAMM Program Manager and engineering teams to implement approved modernization efforts within specified performance, cost, and schedule objectives.
  • Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.

Requirements

  • PhD or JD with nine (9) years of experience; Master's degree with twelve (12) years of experience; Bachelor's degree with fourteen (14) years of experience; or twenty (20) years of experience in lieu of degree in a technical field such as Engineering.
  • Possess or can obtain an active Secret clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience designing and implementing IT systems and networks within the DoD.
  • Experience utilizing NIST's Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Knowledge of the Eastern and Western range networks, instrumentation, capabilities, and technologies.
  • Experience developing roadmaps to transform legacy systems into a modern digital environment.
  • Experience in performing trade studies and analyses of alternatives to enhance enterprise capabilities.
  • Ability to lead the analysis of user/mission needs and existing system capabilities and identify gaps.
  • Capability to apply innovative techniques in investigating solutions to system gaps, test needs, or problems.
  • Demonstrated capability to develop technology modernization plans and manage from concept to implementation.
