About the position

The IT Systems Engineer position at Northrop Grumman in Melbourne, FL, involves developing and delivering the overall IT technical baseline and system design for the E2/TACAMO programs. The role requires collaboration with project managers, architects, and technical specialists, ensuring effective communication with both technical and customer teams throughout the project lifecycle. This position is available at either level 3 or level 4, depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the overall IT technical baseline and system design, including planning, design, development, integration, testing, and production release.
  • Interface regularly with project managers, architects, technical specialists, and customers.
  • Communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with technical and customer teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Travel as business needs dictate.

Requirements

  • Must have an active DOD Secret or higher security clearance or active within the last 24 months and must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
  • Experience in the System Engineering role providing written and oral presentations to customers, vendors, and technical teams.
  • Demonstrate strong foundational expertise in Information Technologies with subject matter expertise in areas such as virtualization, data center designs, data center backup design, software as a service, and cloud technologies.
  • For level 3: 5 years of IT Project Management, System Engineering, or related IT experience with a BS degree in a STEM or Business focused discipline; or 3 years with a related Masters; or 0 years with a PhD; or 9 years of relevant IT experience with at least 4 years in System Engineering.
  • For level 4: 9 years of IT Project Management, System Engineering, or related IT experience with a Bachelor's degree in a STEM or Business focused discipline; or 7 years with a related Masters; or 4 years with a PhD; or 13 years of relevant IT experience with at least 4 years in System Engineering.
