About The Position
The IT Systems Engineer (Data Storage and Backup) position at Jacobs Technology, Inc. is a critical role within the Lone Wolf Team, which is dedicated to supporting, operating, and maintaining the Distributed Continuity Integrated Network - Top Secret Enterprise Services (DCIN-TS ES). This network is a Department of Defense (DoD) provided, Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) integrated voice, video, and data global communications network that facilitates collaboration among senior leaders and key staff. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute significantly to the mission objectives and support our customers by ensuring the integrity and performance of the data storage environment. In this role, you will be responsible for performing administration tasks to manage and maintain an IT enterprise-centered data storage environment specifically for Virtual Machine environments, utilizing technologies such as Nutanix or VMware. You will implement high-performance storage solutions that comply with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) requirements and data retention policies. Additionally, you will assist in identifying and diagnosing complex performance, security, and technical issues that may arise within the data storage systems. Candidates must demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to think and react quickly to emerging and unique problem sets. The role requires a proactive self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of rapidly adapting to new products and processes in a dynamic environment.
