About the position

The IT Systems Engineer, Senior position at OBXtek involves providing technical direction and leadership for IT projects supporting the Army's Global Enterprise Network Modernization (GENM-O) organization. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to develop and implement innovative technical solutions, particularly in cloud and virtualization environments, while ensuring alignment with Army projects and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction for IT projects, focusing on high-availability and virtualization.
• Lead collaborative efforts with developers, designers, product owners, and partner organizations to rapidly develop prototype technical software and hardware solutions.
• Serve as a solutions consultant to determine optimal cloud solutions in collaboration with various agencies and programs.
• Participate in Agile software development sprints and sprint planning activities.
• Define solution acceptance criteria and assist in software testing.
• Evaluate environments for migration, work in sandboxes, and architect solutions tailored to the needs of the Army.
• Coordinate solution design and architecture with existing project teams to ensure alignment with Army projects.
• Work directly with implementation teams to provide technical guidance and implementation priorities.
• Coordinate technical execution of all transformation projects and deconflict as necessary.
• Design, develop, and implement an Enterprise data management solution to enhance customer operations.
• Direct customer engagements to determine requirements and provide technical updates to the Product Manager.

Requirements

• Active Secret Clearance
• 10 years (minimum) administrative experience with Linux and Microsoft environments
• 5 years (minimum) experience working with virtualization and cloud environments
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
• IAT Level II certification
• Possess one of the following certifications: LPIC-1 Linux Administrator, Azure Administrator Associate, VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization, Server+, Cloud + or equivalent certification.
