About the position

The IT Systems Engineer at Marmon Group LLC is responsible for managing, monitoring, and optimizing the company's cloud-based infrastructure, with a focus on Okta and Microsoft cloud environments (M365 & Azure). This role requires deep expertise in cloud services, security, and automation, serving as the technical expert for these systems and ensuring seamless operations. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance security, optimize performance, and improve the overall experience of enterprise cloud services.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the Okta IAM environment.
  • Administer and optimize Okta's IAM solutions, including SSO, MFA, workflows, and lifecycle management.
  • Integrate Okta with other applications/systems using various methods, including SAML, SCIM, OIDC, OAuth, etc.
  • Identify gaps and recommend enhancements to improve the overall efficacy and efficiency of the Okta platform.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Okta services.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain all Azure resources, including subscriptions, VMs, storage, networks, and databases.
  • Monitor Azure usage, manage resource costs, and optimize cloud expenditures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaborate on the management of the M365 environment, including Intune, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, etc.
  • Implement best practices for data protection, user access, and collaboration.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues and develop policies for the M365 ecosystem.
  • Build automation scripts and workflows using MSGraph, PowerShell, Azure CLI, Okta Workflows, and other tools.
  • Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration guides, and standard operating procedures.
  • Stay up to date on the latest Microsoft and Okta features, security trends, and industry best practices to continuously improve service delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years' experience administering Windows environments, including Server 2008+, AD, Group Policy, DNS, SQL, etc.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as an administrator of large-scale Okta environments.
  • 3+ years' experience implementing and managing Microsoft cloud technologies (M365 & Azure).
  • In-depth knowledge of Okta APIs, SDKs, and integrations with cloud and on-premises systems.
  • Strong understanding of security protocols such as SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, SCIM, LDAP, etc.
  • Experience in Identity Lifecycle Management utilizing Okta Workflows.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using MSGraph, PowerShell, Azure CLI, and other tools.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Azure AD, identity, and security services.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks like Zero Trust, NIST, or CIS.
  • Relevant certifications such as Okta Certified Administrator, Okta Certified Professional, Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect, etc. are highly preferred.
