About the position

The IT Systems Manager at Planned Parenthood Southeast is responsible for providing technical support and ensuring the smooth operation of the organization's IT infrastructure. This role is crucial for maintaining the technology that supports healthcare services and ensuring staff have the necessary tools to perform their work efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hardware troubleshooting, help desk support, and experience in both front-end and back-end development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tier 1 and 2 help desk support for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues, including desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights for staff.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and applications.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues.
  • Assist with front-end and back-end development to support internal and external applications.
  • Ensure timely response to service requests and maintain communication with staff regarding ticket status.
  • Collaborate with the IT team on larger projects, including system upgrades and the implementation of new technologies.
  • Support the security, integrity, and availability of network systems by enforcing policies and protocols.
  • Document and maintain an inventory of all IT assets and ensure software licensing compliance.
  • Provide training and support to staff on the use of hardware and software.
  • Partner with PPFA and the MSP for larger projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years of experience in IT support, with a focus on hardware troubleshooting and help desk functions.
  • 3 years of experience in a senior level IT role.
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Python, PHP).
  • Proficiency with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems, such as Zendesk or Jira.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical staff.
  • Experience with security practices and backup systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of healthcare IT systems is a plus, but not required.
