About the position
The IT Systems Specialist position at Bryan County is a full-time role within the Information Technology Department, responsible for the installation, testing, maintenance, and technical support of county-wide systems. The specialist will assist in software product planning, hardware changes, and provide technical assistance to users, while also managing system security and administration tasks.
Responsibilities
- Manage the team's ticket queue and escalate issues as necessary
- Assist with network administration, including monitoring networks for problems and troubleshooting
- Maintain continuous system availability and security procedures
- Manage security solutions, including firewall and anti-virus systems
- Manage county-wide systems such as DHCP, DNS, and mail servers
- Troubleshoot problems in hardware, software, and cabling
- Assist in the planning and installation of new hardware and software
- Perform preventative maintenance on computers and peripherals
- Provide technical support to peers on the use of systems and application software
- Maintain confidentiality of data and access codes encountered during support functions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or closely related field
- Ability to obtain one of the following industry certifications (A+, Net+, Server+, etc.) within one year of start date
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems
- Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation
- Extensive knowledge of Windows and Mac OS X Operating Systems
- One year of experience in a multi-vendor, multi-platform environment
- Knowledge of PC/Mac hardware and software applications
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, and TCP/IP networking
- Must have a valid Driver's License

- Industry certifications for IT professionals (A+, Net+, Server+, etc.)
- Higher education institution IT experience
- Experience in technical writing and documentation
- Experience with Intune device management solutions
- Experience with Apple mobile devices
- Experience with managing a service desk queue
