About the position

The IT Systems Support Specialist will be responsible for providing advanced system support in a variety of environments, including support desk, applications, desktop, and field settings. This role is crucial for ensuring the effective operation of enterprise, client/server, desktop computer systems, network systems, and business applications. The specialist will also provide IT support specifically for applications used by the Department of Human Assistance. The position is a contract role based in Rancho Cordova, California, with a duration of 9-10 months and a high likelihood of extension. The work hours are from 8 AM to 4 PM, and the candidate will be expected to perform a wide range of duties that include troubleshooting, configuring, and diagnosing hardware and software issues, as well as responding to customer service requests. The candidate must possess a valid California Driver's License, Class C, and have a strong understanding of Microsoft Operating systems, particularly Windows 10 and 11, along with Microsoft 365 products and imaging software.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of advanced system support duties in a support desk/applications/desktop/field environment.
  • Provide effective support for enterprise, client/server, desktop computer systems, network systems, and business applications.
  • Operate, maintain, and perform repairs on information technology equipment and software.
  • Perform complex duties related to troubleshooting, configuring, and diagnosing desktop and network hardware and software issues.
  • Respond appropriately to customer service requests.
  • Assist with imaging, setup, and deployment for PC/Laptop telework deployment and monitor upgrades throughout the Department of Human Assistance.
  • Provide 2nd level help desk support.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in IT support roles.
  • Associates degree in a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Operating systems including Windows 10; Windows 11 is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 products.
  • Experience with imaging software and automated imaging processes.
  • Understanding of principles and practices of customer service.
  • Ability to troubleshoot computer system hardware and software problems.
