J-U-B ENGINEERS, Inc. (J-U-B) is dedicated to Helping Each Other Create Better Communities, and we are currently seeking an IT Systems Technician to join our team in Kennewick, WA. This role is essential in supporting our entire staff by maintaining IT systems and providing technical support. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, personable, ethical, innovative, and persistent in resolving end-user needs. The position requires a strong commitment to quality support in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that all employees have the necessary tools and assistance to perform their jobs effectively. As an IT Systems Technician, you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of end-user hardware, software, and peripherals. You will provide company-wide help desk support, ensuring compliance with J-U-B policies and best practices. The role also involves maintaining a high degree of technical knowledge and adapting to new technologies while staying updated with industry trends. You will work closely with both technical and non-technical personnel, requiring excellent communication skills to effectively convey information and resolve issues. This position may involve travel to other offices and working after hours, including weekends, as necessary to troubleshoot and resolve problems. The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of computer systems, including hardware, software, and networks, as well as experience with Windows and Apple operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Active Directory, VPN, and server administration.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining IT systems and provide technical support to employees.
  • Installation and maintenance of end-user hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Provide company-wide help desk support.
  • Ensure compliance with J-U-B policies and best practices.
  • Maintain a high degree of technical knowledge.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues with troubleshooting, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Adapt to new technologies and stay updated with industry trends.
  • Work effectively in a team environment.

Requirements

  • An associate's degree in the information technology field and one or more years of experience in the industry are required.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Basic to intermediate telecommunications skills: VOIP Physical and Soft Phones.
  • Basic networking skills: Routers, switches, wireless networks.
  • Basic to intermediate software installation and troubleshooting skills.
  • Help desk skills: Desktop, laptop troubleshooting, mobile device troubleshooting, printing troubleshooting.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues with troubleshooting, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Software knowledge: Android OS, Apple desktop OS, Apple iOS, Autodesk and Bentley products are preferred.
  • Storage: RAID technologies.
  • Virtualization: Virtual Desktop Environments.
