About the position

Centaris is seeking an IT Systems Technician to provide onsite help desk and deskside support primarily dedicated to one of our clients in an education environment. This role involves providing end user support to both students and staff, including installation, training, proactive maintenance, repair, problem solving, and assistance for all internal hardware/software and applications. The position is full-time, with primary hours from Monday to Friday at the client site in Dearborn, from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite help desk and deskside support primarily for an education client.
• Assist students and staff with end user support.
• Install, train, and maintain hardware and software.
• Perform proactive maintenance and repairs on computer systems.
• Troubleshoot and solve problems related to internal hardware/software and applications.

Requirements

• Demonstrated proficiency in setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting computers, printers, software, telecom, and mobile peripherals including iPads.
• Basic network troubleshooting skills for ISP/LAN/WiFi connectivity, routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Experience with Windows Active Directory for administration and maintenance of end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
• Familiarity with Help Desk ticketing and monitoring software.
• Experience using Microsoft Windows client platforms, including Windows Server and SharePoint.
• Email troubleshooting experience in a Microsoft 365 environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school (or related degree/equivalent combination of education and experience) preferred.
• 2+ years of IT work experience preferred.
• Professional IT certifications preferred.
