About the position

The IT Technical Manager is responsible for overseeing the IT support efforts and staff at the property, ensuring effective management of IT operations. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing IT teams, leading complex IT projects, and developing policies and procedures for IT management. The position reports to the Regional Director of IT and demands strong leadership skills in a technical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, direct, and perform the activities of the Property's IT group to ensure timely and accurate installation, maintenance, and repair of computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Ensure that the team identifies and solves any technical issues quickly, keeping track of problems and resolutions.
  • Responsible for personnel-related matters including interviewing, hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, evaluating, promoting, counseling, and discharging team members.
  • Lead and manage IT projects for the property, including setting up new systems and overseeing installations.
  • Keep upper management informed about any technical-related needs or issues.
  • Develop and maintain guidelines to ensure the IT department runs smoothly and stays compliant with company rules.
  • Oversee the IT department's budget, working with the Regional Director of IT to identify needs and ensure spending aligns with approvals.
  • Ensure all computer hardware, software, servers, and accessories are set up correctly, maintained, and repaired as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a computer science discipline or comparable experience preferred.
  • Five (5) years of supervisory (or higher) level experience in an IT Support position required.
  • In-depth familiarity with IT Support operations and Tier Support operations is essential.
  • Advanced knowledge of network fundamentals such as LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, and network configurations is required.
  • At least four (4) years of applied experience with Windows 2000, Windows 7, workstation topologies, and network hardware is necessary.
  • A+ certification is required; ITIL V3 Awareness training preferred.
  • Advanced computer networking, client-server, and AS400/iSeries experience is necessary.
  • Excellent project management and proven leadership skills in positions of increasing responsibility are required.
  • Knowledge of network equipment, hubs, switches, and servers is essential.
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills are necessary.
  • Familiarity with various casino business systems and the full suite of Microsoft Office applications is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • ITIL V3 Awareness training preferred.
