About the position

The IT Technical Project Manager will oversee technology projects related to a web-based product, ensuring they are managed from inception to completion using established project management methodologies. The role involves developing project scopes, managing resources, tracking milestones, and communicating effectively with stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Manage technology projects from beginning to end, using established project management methodology.
  • Develop project scope, human resource requirements, work plans, time schedules, risk register, and communication plans to manage towards project objectives.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Track and report on project milestones and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain business requirements and models to improve understanding about project plans and desired outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain production calendar to effectively manage periodic and stand-alone projects.
  • Define the project success criteria and manage with stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to leadership, sponsor, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Make process improvement suggestions to streamline project delivery.

Requirements

  • 4 years of experience managing the design, development, and implementation of projects, including gathering and defining project requirements.
  • Experience developing short- and long-range plans for projects, including estimating timelines for start-up and completion.
  • Ability to coordinate and prepare reports and correspondence in support of assigned projects.
  • Experience preparing and delivering presentations to management teams, department directors, and applicable program staff.
  • Experience assisting in planning, directing, and coordinating the department work plan; meeting with management staff to identify and resolve problems.
  • Ability to suggest and implement solutions to address new or ongoing challenges.
  • Experience managing scope expectations with program customers and stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • 4 years of experience with Jira or similar tools for managing requirements and project milestones.
  • Exhibit a strong customer-friendly approach.
  • Experience with Agile methodology in an IT setting.
