About the position

As an IT Technical Project Manager at Consolidated Nuclear Security LLC, you will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of strategic IT projects. This role ensures that all projects align with the company's strategies, policies, processes, methodologies, commitments, and goals. You will manage and direct the day-to-day activities of one or more projects, which includes formulating project teams, developing project execution plans, and ensuring deliverables are met. You will lead complex IT projects through the full project life-cycle, which encompasses project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. Your goal will be to successfully deliver assigned projects within agreed-upon constraints such as scope, schedule, labor cost, and quality. This includes developing and executing comprehensive project execution plans that outline deliverables, goals, milestones, resource allocation, and costs. You will also manage the project budget and resources effectively, resolving conflicts and prioritizing project issues as they arise. In addition to project management, you will be responsible for maintaining project and technical documentation, ensuring completeness and accuracy. Effective communication is crucial, and you will be expected to brief upper management on project activities, costs, schedules, status, and technical performance on a weekly or monthly basis. Participation in departmental management processes such as planning, budgeting, and scheduling will also be part of your responsibilities. You may also be involved in developing procurement deliverables for external services and materials, which may require serving in a subcontractor administrator role. Some travel may be required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of strategic IT projects.
  • Manages and directs the day-to-day activities of one or more projects including the formulation of the project teams and development of project execution plans.
  • Leads complex IT projects through the full project life-cycle including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Develops and executes full-scale project execution plans including deliverables, goals, milestones, resource loading, and cost management.
  • Directs and utilizes project team resources to successfully deliver assigned projects within agreed-upon constraints.
  • Develops and maintains project and/or technical documentation, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensures effective communication exists with and among projects for which he/she is responsible.
  • Briefs upper management weekly and/or monthly on project activities, cost, schedule, status, and technical performance.
  • Participates in departmental management processes such as planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Participates and/or develops procurement deliverables for external services and materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Master's degree is preferred.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification OR Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Leading SAFe Certified.
  • Experience in Microsoft Project or equivalent tools.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a diverse group.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, time management, organizational, and oral/written skills.
  • Good understanding of risk management, risk mitigation, and contingency planning.

Nice-to-haves

  • Scrum Master Certification preferred.
  • Agile Project Management Certification preferred.
  • ITIL Foundations Certification preferred.
  • ServiceNow experience with Agile Development and Project modules preferred.
  • Highly motivated with proven ability to manage multiple concurrent IT projects.
  • Knowledge of project management best practices and processes.
  • Understanding of project lifecycle management and software development life cycle.
  • IT project leadership skills focused on time, cost, and quality control.
  • Ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and resolve conflicts.
  • Experience serving as a Scrum Master is desired.
  • Experience executing agile projects is desired.
