About the position

The IT Technical Specialist II at Mayo Clinic will serve as a Data Architect within the ERP Technology Services Unit, focusing on the Administrative Business Systems section. This role is pivotal in documenting and organizing data architecture frameworks, specializing in ERP data across various systems including Ancillary systems, Oracle, and UKG. The position emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize data processes and provide education on data transformations, ensuring that the needs of patients are prioritized through effective data management.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and document data flows and transformations.
• Create easily understandable data architecture documents for business areas and IT support teams.
• Identify areas for potential optimization in current data processes.
• Troubleshoot operational issues involving complex data flows or transformations.
• Educate business and IT teams on data transformations throughout the systems.
• Understand data sources for ERP data and their interactions with Mayo's key data stores.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 8 years' experience including 5 years' of demonstrated technical experience and 3 years of demonstrated leadership experience OR Associates Degree and 10 years' experience including 5 years' of demonstrated technical experience and 3 years of demonstrated leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of cloud-based data platforms and integration techniques.
• In-depth knowledge of database design, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
• Proven experience in the ERP space, particularly with ERP data flows.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in applicable field preferred.
• Experience working in healthcare technology.
• Exposure to managing both custom developed and vendor-supplied applications.
