About the position
GGS Information Services, Inc. is seeking an IT Technical Support Technician to provide IT administration and technical assistance to employees and customers. The role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing the company's computer network, and ensuring compliance with security policies. The ideal candidate will be versatile, active, curious, insightful, driven, humble, confident, and skilled in systems and network administration.
Responsibilities
- Provide IT administration and technical assistance to employees and customers in hardware and software installation, applications, and technical problems.
- Identify the root cause of equipment-related malfunctions and implement solutions.
- Stay current with new software, hardware, and related technological innovations.
- Investigate how new technology can be integrated with existing systems.
- Assist with oversight and management of the company's computer network, database, and Microsoft operating systems.
- Develop, update, and test company-wide programs for software copyright compliance, virus protection, change management, problem management, and disaster recovery.
- Maintain and improve security stance regarding policy and NIST 800-171/CMMC security requirements.
Requirements
- Experience in Systems/Network Administration work.
- Knowledgeable about network operating systems, addressing schemes, and components.
- Solid hands-on experience with hardware such as switches, routers, firewalls, and server hardware.
- Experience with software including IIS, NPS, Active Directory, VMWare, CA, and PKI.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with a wide range of business software and packages.
- Experience with a variety of server platforms such as IIS and SQL Server.
- Eagerness to learn and understand new technologies.
