About the position

The IT Technician is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's computer systems, networks, and technology infrastructure. This role ensures that technology resources operate efficiently to support business operations, providing technical support and maintaining security measures.

Responsibilities

• Providing technical assistance and troubleshooting for end-users who encounter computer or technology-related issues.
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware and software.
• Setting up and managing local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and WIFI management.
• Implementing and maintaining security measures to protect against cyber threats.
• Regularly backing up data and developing recovery procedures to minimize data loss.
• Keeping systems and software up to date with the latest patches and upgrades.
• Keeping track of IT assets, such as computers, servers, and networking equipment.
• Maintaining records, manuals, and documentation related to IT systems and procedures.
• Providing remote assistance to users who are not physically present at the office.
• Collaborating with other IT professionals and departments to address complex technical challenges.
• Assisting users with password resets and account issues.

Requirements

• Prior experience in IT support, help desk, or a related field is advantageous.
• Proficiency in software troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques.
• Knowledge of computer hardware components and their functions.
• Familiarity with network administration principles and protocols.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Flexibility in schedule - may require after hours, weekends, etc.
