About the position

Peak Vista Community Health Centers is seeking an IT Technician II to provide onsite IT customer support across various remote locations on a quarterly rotating schedule. This role is crucial in delivering comprehensive IT support to a large user base of medical professionals, ensuring that all tasks are completed consistently and efficiently according to established processes and guidelines. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, along with excellent technical writing abilities for documentation purposes. Interpersonal and customer service skills are essential for effective communication with both technical and non-technical users. The IT Technician II will manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced IT environment, demonstrating a proactive approach to researching and implementing innovative solutions with minimal guidance. The responsibilities of the IT Technician II include performing installation, configuration, operation, and troubleshooting of PC hardware, software, and peripherals, including MS Windows operating systems and MS Office 365. The technician will provide IT support and problem resolution using remote desktop tools, telephone support, and in-person assistance at clinic locations. All tasks and user requests will be logged in the IT ticketing system, with detailed documentation of troubleshooting steps and resolutions. The technician will also participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support and assist with IT requirements for various Peak Vista events. Continuous learning and development of additional skills are encouraged, as is adherence to HIPAA privacy and security standards. The role requires reliable transportation for frequent travel within the Colorado Springs area and a commitment to maintaining good working relationships across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, configuration, operation and troubleshooting of PC hardware, software and peripherals, MS Windows operating systems, MS Office 365, and other Peak Vista applications
  • Provide IT support and problem resolution by using remote desktop tools
  • Provide telephone support and cover shifts as required to adequately maintain IT Helpdesk coverage
  • Receive and respond to in-person user inquiries/requests while onsite at clinic locations
  • Ensure end user needs are handled professionally with accuracy and proficiency
  • Log all tasks and user requests in IT ticketing system; document all actions to include troubleshooting steps; communications and resolution per IT Dept. SLA's
  • Use available resources to troubleshoot more complicated issues
  • Understand timely escalation to next level support as situations dictate
  • Participate in 'On Call' rotation to provide afterhours support
  • Participate and/or lead support of IT requirement for Peak Vista events such as large conference/departmental meetings, large group moves, etc.
  • Participate in projects and initiatives as directed by the IT leadership
  • Maintain a current working knowledge of IT trends and technology
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with all departments, the management team, medical staff, and leadership

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's in computer science or related field preferred
  • 2 years of IT support experience or COMPTIA -NET Plus or SEC Plus required
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Operating systems, Active Directory, Microsoft Office Products, Internet Browsers
  • Extensive understanding of network protocols TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
  • Windows 10, or A+, or Network +, or Security + Certifications or any other IT related Certifications are preferred

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus but not required
