About The Position

Meissner is seeking an IT Technician II to provide advanced technical support to end-users, resolve complex issues escalated from other IT teams, and collaborate on various IT tasks. This role involves supporting essential systems, managing IT assets, and contributing to IT projects. The position is based on-site in Athens, GA. Meissner is a company focused on developing advanced microfiltration products and single-use systems for the life sciences industry, with a commitment to employee growth and development.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School diploma with 2-3 years working experience in a similar position.
  • Must be fluent with MS Office software including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Must have a working knowledge of operating systems and equipment.
  • Understand the operation and support of Microsoft Office and office 365 applications.
  • Must have strong English Language written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Windows Client and server operating systems (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of printing technologies and connectivity.
  • Understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V), thin clients and RDP.
  • Understanding of networking technologies such as TCP/IP and stack, network cabling.

Nice To Haves

  • CompTIA or other relevant certification, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to incidents and requests for end-user support with workstation hardware and software (e.g., barcode scanners, monitors, label printers, error messages, PC issues, viruses).
  • Provide server and network support.
  • Support on-site and remote end-users.
  • Document, track, and monitor incidents and requests in the Meissner ITSM platform, ensuring ticket service level targets are met.
  • Follow escalation procedures, involving other departments as needed.
  • Keep system images up to date.
  • Assist with new IT hardware deployment.
  • Maintain Cisco Telephony Systems, including trouble response and user provisioning.
  • Support VPN client technology/connection.
  • Provide other technical support as required (e.g., mobile devices, tablets, apps).
  • Establish maintenance schedules for IT assets in the maintenance software.
  • Organize and assist with Zebra label printer maintenance.
  • Determine computer spare parts and hardware inventory levels.
  • Perform computer software updates, virus, and malware cleanup.
  • Set up and maintain special workstation image backups.
  • Monitor server rooms and related equipment (routers, UPS, etc.) for system health and environmental conditions.
  • Perform off-hours maintenance and upgrades.
  • Perform hardware and software upgrades.
  • Assist with network and telephony system upgrades.
  • Maintain and create IT documentation.
  • Assist in IT infrastructure upgrades.
  • Assist and support IT Developers with their project needs and deployments.
