About the position

The IT Technician, Level 2 is responsible for providing both remote and onsite service and support for customers, addressing a wide range of technology needs. This includes managing workstations, servers, printers, networks, and vendor-specific hardware and software. The role is critical in ensuring that all technology-related issues are resolved efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall client experience. The position is based at Cutting Edge Network Technologies, a Managed Services Provider located in Winter Park, Florida, which has been operational for over 22 years and has a strong reputation for serving small businesses. In this role, the IT Technician will be expected to support various Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, and Office 365. The technician will also implement and support disaster recovery solutions, such as Veeam, and provide technical services at the network level, including WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, WiFi, and security. Additionally, the technician will support remote access solutions like VPN, Remote Desktop Services, and Citrix. The position requires a proactive approach to improving customer service and satisfaction, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. The technician will manage a daily schedule through ConnectWise, ensuring that all work is documented as service tickets.

Responsibilities

  • Handle remote and onsite service and support needs for customers.
  • Manage technology including workstations, servers, printers, networks, and vendor-specific hardware and software.
  • Support IT issues related to Microsoft's core business applications and virtual environments built on Microsoft Hyper-V.
  • Implement and support disaster recovery solutions such as Veeam.
  • Provide technical services and support at the network level, including WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, WiFi, and security.
  • Support remote access solutions including VPN, Remote Desktop Services, and Citrix.
  • Improve customer service, perception, and satisfaction.
  • Work effectively in a team and communicate with colleagues and clients.
  • Manage a daily schedule in ConnectWise established through the dispatch process.
  • Enter all work as service tickets into ConnectWise.

Requirements

  • Experience in IT support relating to technical issues involving Microsoft's core business applications.
  • Knowledge of virtual environments built on Microsoft Hyper-V.
  • Experience with Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, Office 365.
  • Ability to implement and support disaster recovery solutions such as Veeam.
  • Technical services and support experience at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, WiFi, and security.
  • Experience with remote access solutions: VPN, Remote Desktop Services, and Citrix.
  • Professional IT Certifications from vendors such as Microsoft, CompTIA, Citrix, SonicWALL.
  • Strong diagnosis skills for technical issues and network fundamentals.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly.
  • Typing skills for quick and accurate entry of service request details.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ConnectWise or similar ticketing systems.
  • Familiarity with additional IT certifications beyond the required ones.
