About the position
As a Help Desk Technician V at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in providing technical support and troubleshooting for network, desktop, and systems hardware and software. This position is integral to ensuring the smooth operation of technology systems that support various government agencies, enhancing their efficiency and security. You will be involved in diagnosing issues, recommending solutions, and maintaining compliance with security policies, all while contributing to a culture of innovation and excellence in enterprise IT.
Responsibilities
- Provides technical support and troubleshooting to network, desktop, and/or systems hardware and software.
- Answers questions about installation, operation, configuration, customization, and usage of assigned products.
- Applies basic diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes, and recommend solutions to correct common failures.
- Maintains appropriate licenses, training, and/or certifications as needed; researches and determines applicability of new/emerging certification programs.
- Assists in communicating, implementing, and enforcing security policies or plans for data, software applications, hardware, and telecommunications devices.
- Provides recommendations to stakeholders on information assurance engineering standards, implementation dependencies, and changing information assurance related technologies.
Requirements
- 7+ years of related experience in technical support and troubleshooting.
- BA/BS degree in a relevant field.
- Deep understanding of how teams integrate and coordinate their efforts to achieve program objectives.
- In-depth understanding of technical specialism and related disciplines in the context of DOD, Agency, and/or industry standards.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with RMF (Risk Management Framework).
- Certifications in relevant technical areas.
