About the position

Softtek Integration Systems Inc is seeking an IT Technician to join our team in a direct hire role located in the South Chicago area. This position is critical to our operations within a fast-paced global enterprise environment, where the IT Technician will be responsible for providing technical support and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems. The role requires a hands-on approach, as the technician will be required to work onsite, addressing various IT-related issues that arise in a dynamic workplace. Candidates must be local to Chicago, IL, as this position does not offer remote work options. The IT Technician will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our IT infrastructure, supporting both manufacturing and assembly operations, and ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally to support business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for IT systems and applications in a manufacturing environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
• Assist in the installation and configuration of new IT equipment and software.
• Maintain and update documentation related to IT processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with other IT staff to improve system performance and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with company policies regarding data security and confidentiality.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of college education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1-2 years of related experience in manufacturing and assembly operations.
• Good working knowledge of Windows-based applications and database applications.
• Some experience in SQL, Program Scripting, or PowerShell is preferred.
• Excellent leadership abilities, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with network troubleshooting and support.
• Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
• Knowledge of hardware components and assembly processes.
