About the position

The IT Technician at Universal Coin & Bullion will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive IT support across the organization. This position involves maintaining systems, troubleshooting technical issues, onboarding new users, and ensuring optimal functionality of IT equipment and software. The technician will be responsible for both proactive and reactive support, ensuring that all IT-related challenges are addressed efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure systems are up-to-date through regular operating system upgrades.
  • Monitor the performance of networking equipment, VOIP phones, and servers to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and ongoing support of new software applications and features.
  • Track web performance, network availability, and security to identify and address issues proactively.
  • Lead efforts to troubleshoot and resolve system errors and technical problems.
  • Provide helpdesk support for network and VOIP phone inquiries, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Offer technical support through phone, remote access, or on-site visits as required.
  • Respond to a variety of IT issues, including hardware maintenance, software applications, and networking concerns.
  • Assess and troubleshoot connectivity issues related to equipment and software configurations.
  • Modify system configurations, utilities, and software to meet operational needs.
  • Configure and set up IT equipment for new users, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience.
  • Install, test, and monitor servers, firewalls, VOIP phones, and new software solutions.
  • Perform regular data backups to safeguard critical information.
  • Implement and update network system enhancements as necessary.
  • Provide assistance with servers, LAN/WAN technologies, computer repair, software troubleshooting, virus protection, Wi-Fi technology, and more.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience as a helpdesk technician, computer technician, or IT support specialist.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve multiple technical issues.
  • Excellent multitasking and time management abilities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a diverse and fast-paced environment.
  • Goal-oriented and organized team player.
  • Experience with network and server management support.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current systems, software, and technological advancements.
  • Physical capability to stand, bend, squat, and lift IT equipment.
