About the position

Join our team as an IT Technician at Furniture Mart USA in Shakopee, MN! This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to start a career within IT. Make a difference by providing daily IT support to our internal users. As an IT Technician, you will be responsible for installing, modifying, and repairing computer hardware systems. You will provide technical advice and support to system users in person, on the phone, and online. Your role will also involve installing hardware, monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives, as well as assisting in the customization and adaptation of existing programs and infrastructure. You will be assisting customers and staff with hardware and software challenges, ensuring that all technical issues are resolved efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Install, modify and repair computer hardware systems.
  • Provide technical advice and support to system users in person, on the phone and online.
  • Install hardware, monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives.
  • Assist in the customization and adaptation of existing programs and infrastructure.
  • Assist customers and staff with hardware and software challenges.

Requirements

  • At least a one-year certification from college or technical school OR three to six months related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Problem-solving skills, utilizing critical thinking to address customer or employee needs.
  • Patience in dealing with clients who may not understand technical issues.
  • Strong communication skills to clearly convey information and follow up with clients.
  • Endurance to work long hours on complicated projects and stay focused on objectives.
