The IT Specialist is a crucial role within the Drug Abuse and Research Treatment (DART) program, responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing the program's IT infrastructure. This position ensures the smooth operation of hardware, software, networks, and other technology systems, providing essential support to all departments within the DART program. The IT Specialist will work closely with the Chief Clinical Officer and the IT department to ensure that all technology-related needs are met efficiently and effectively. Familiarity with medical facilities and patient confidentiality is essential, as the role involves handling sensitive information and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. In this role, the IT Specialist will provide timely and effective technical assistance to employees experiencing hardware, software, or network issues. They will troubleshoot problems, diagnose issues, and implement solutions to maintain productivity across the organization. Regular maintenance tasks, including updates, patches, and backups, will be performed to ensure the stability and security of IT systems. The specialist will monitor system performance and proactively identify areas for improvement. The IT Specialist will also manage and administer the DART network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. They will monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and implement security measures to protect against cyber threats. Information security is a key responsibility, requiring the implementation and enforcement of security protocols to safeguard sensitive information and prevent unauthorized access. Regular security audits will be conducted to identify vulnerabilities, and the specialist will recommend solutions to mitigate risks.
