About the position

The IT Technician position at United Medical Imaging involves providing support for the Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS). The role focuses on managing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and training staff on the PACS system, ensuring the effective capture of digital imaging data and supporting client implementation efforts.

Responsibilities

• Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot the PACS system.
• Implement and train staff on the PACS system.
• Ensure timely capture of DICOM digital image data into the PACS system.
• Coordinate client implementation around RIS/PACS integration.
• Develop project plans for client implementation and integration efforts.
• Participate in the development of operational procedures for RIS/PACS/Dictation.
• Provide necessary information and seek counsel from the IT Manager as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of various client RIS, PACS, and Dictation systems.
• Identify, analyze, track, and report system-related problems.
• Support client onsite needs pre and post go live.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related healthcare discipline or information systems discipline.
• 2 years of experience in general IT and Networking.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Valid CA Driver License.

Nice-to-haves

• Certified PACS Interface Analyst Exam (CPIA).
• Certified PACS System Manager Exam (CPMS).
• Familiarity with specific radiology applications such as Carestream software systems.
