About the position

As Texas's largest RV Chain, Fun Town RV is dedicated to providing excellent customer service and offering top RV brands at competitive prices. The IT Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that our dealerships operate smoothly by traveling to various locations to troubleshoot, install, and maintain network systems, interactive video setups, telecommunications, and associated components. This position is vital for maintaining the technological infrastructure that supports our operations and enhances customer experience. The IT Technician will be responsible for managing helpdesk tickets and troubleshooting hardware and software installations when not traveling. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, a passion for technology, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members to achieve business objectives. In addition to technical skills, the IT Technician must demonstrate professionalism and accountability in all duties. The position involves ongoing maintenance of current and future projects, ensuring compliance with company policies, and maintaining data integrity by following established procedures. Responsibilities

  • Travel to dealerships to troubleshoot, install, and maintain network systems and telecommunications equipment.
  • Manage helpdesk tickets and provide technical support for hardware and software installations.
  • Install and terminate low voltage wiring including Cat5e, Cat6e, and Fiber.
  • Mount, install, and configure various IT equipment such as PCs, phones, televisions, cameras, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Document, maintain, and report service calls and installation actions by completing forms, reports, or logs.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to achieve business objectives and maintain compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain professionalism and accountability in all duties and responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of network cabling experience (required).
  • 1 year of desktop/technical support experience (preferred).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Proficient with Google Workspace: Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
  • Excellent typing and 10-key skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with interactive video systems.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications equipment and installation.
