About the position

At Great Wolf, the IT Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of technical systems at the lodge. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive technical support, which encompasses a variety of tasks including the installation and maintenance of workstations and printers throughout the resort. The IT Technician will also be tasked with administering local servers, monitoring network performance, hardware functionality, connectivity, and ensuring regular backups are conducted. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the IT infrastructure within the resort environment. The IT Technician will work closely with on-property staff to address systems-related issues, particularly those pertaining to the Property Management System (PMS) and Point of Sale (POS) systems. Proactive monitoring and administration of the network, workstation operating systems, security systems, and backups are essential duties that the technician will undertake. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for assembling, disassembling, repairing, installing, and de-installing computers and related equipment that have been approved for use by the corporate office. Training and supervising employees on the proper use of systems to ensure compliance with company policies is another key responsibility. The IT Technician will also participate in job-related training, classes, conventions, and seminars to enhance personal knowledge and skills. Compliance with GWR license agreements and maintaining accurate inventories of equipment while ensuring a clean and organized work area are also part of the job. The technician will assist corporate IT on various projects and support issues, prioritizing tasks effectively to manage workload at the resort. Regular training sessions will be conducted to keep the knowledge base current among property staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for systems at the lodge.
  • Install and maintain workstations and printers throughout the resort.
  • Administer local servers and monitor network performance.
  • Oversee hardware performance, connectivity, and backups.
  • Work closely with on-property staff on systems-related issues.
  • Assemble, disassemble, repair, install, and de-install computers and related equipment.
  • Supervise and train employees on system usage to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Participate in job-related training and personal knowledge enrichment opportunities.
  • Administer and enforce GWR license agreements for compliance.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of equipment and ensure a clean work area.
  • Assist corporate IT on projects and support issues.
  • Prioritize projects and support workload at the resort.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for property staff.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in IT or related field (or equivalent combination of education/experience).
  • Strong support knowledge of O365, Microsoft Office, network technologies and concepts (TCP/IP, SMTP, Ethernet, Wide Area Networks).
  • Proficiency in desktop/mobile OS and hardware as well as audio/visual support experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Successful completion of criminal background check and drug screen.
