About the position

At Great Wolf Lodge, the IT Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of technical systems throughout the resort. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive technical support, which includes the installation and maintenance of workstations and printers, as well as administering local servers. The IT Technician will monitor network performance, hardware functionality, connectivity, and backups to ensure that all systems are running efficiently and effectively. Reporting directly to the IT Manager, the technician will work closely with on-property staff to address any systems-related issues, particularly those pertaining to the Property Management System (PMS) and Point of Sale (POS) systems. The IT Technician will proactively monitor and administer various systems, including workstation operating systems and security systems, while ensuring that backups are performed regularly. This role also involves assembling, disassembling, repairing, installing, and de-installing computers and related equipment that have been approved for use by the corporate office. The technician will supervise and train employees on the proper use of these systems to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Participation in job-related training, classes, conventions, and seminars is expected to enhance personal knowledge and skills. In addition to technical responsibilities, the IT Technician will maintain accurate inventories of equipment and ensure that the work area is organized, safe, and clean. The technician will assist the corporate IT team with various projects and support issues, prioritizing tasks effectively to manage workload at the resort. Regular training sessions will be conducted to keep the knowledge base of the staff current, ensuring that all team members are equipped to handle technical challenges as they arise.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for systems at the lodge.
  • Monitor and administer the network, workstation operating systems, security systems, backups, and servers.
  • Assemble, disassemble, repair, install, and de-install computers and related equipment.
  • Supervise and train employees on system usage to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Participate in job-related training and personal knowledge enrichment opportunities.
  • Administer and enforce GWR license agreements for compliance and budget accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of equipment and ensure a clean work area.
  • Assist corporate IT on projects and support issues in the field or at the corporate office.
  • Prioritize projects and support workload at the resort.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to keep the knowledge base current.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in IT or related field (or equivalent combination of education/experience).
  • Strong support knowledge of O365, Microsoft Office, network technologies and concepts (TCP/IP, SMTP, Ethernet, Wide Area Networks).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Successful completion of criminal background check and drug screen.
