About the position

At Great Wolf, the IT Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of technical systems at the lodge. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive technical support, which encompasses a variety of tasks including the installation and maintenance of workstations and printers throughout the resort. The IT Technician will report directly to the IT Manager and will be involved in administering local servers, monitoring network performance, hardware functionality, connectivity, and backups. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the resort's IT infrastructure. The IT Technician will work closely with on-property staff to address systems-related issues, particularly those pertaining to the Property Management System (PMS) and Point of Sale (POS) systems. Proactive monitoring and administration of the network, workstation operating systems, security systems, and backups are key responsibilities. The technician will also be tasked with assembling, disassembling, repairing, installing, and de-installing computers and related equipment that have been approved for use by the corporate office. In addition to technical duties, the IT Technician will supervise and train employees on the use of systems to ensure compliance with established company policies. Participation in job-related training, classes, conventions, and seminars for personal knowledge enrichment is expected. The technician will also administer and enforce Great Wolf Resorts (GWR) license agreements to ensure compliance and budgetary accuracy. Maintaining accurate inventories of equipment and ensuring a clean and organized work area are also part of the job. The IT Technician will assist corporate IT on various projects and support issues, prioritizing projects and support workload effectively at the resort. Regular training sessions will be conducted to keep the knowledge base current among property staff.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Associates degree in IT or related field (or equivalent combination of education/experience).
  • Strong support knowledge of O365, Microsoft Office, network technologies and concepts (TCP/IP, SMTP, Ethernet, Wide Area Networks).
  • Proficiency in desktop/mobile OS and hardware as well as audio/visual support experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Successful completion of criminal background check and drug screen.
