About the position

BRMi is seeking an IT Tester (Test Engineer) to compile, research, analyze, and document data, requirements, workflows, processes, functionality, and controls for the respective ISD group. The role involves developing and evaluating information, preparing recommendations based on analysis for decision-making, and working on complex, high-impact projects. The IT Tester will serve as a technical specialist or advisor to the respective group, with the opportunity to work remotely from various states.

Responsibilities

  • Compile, research, analyze, and document data, requirements, workflows, processes, functionality, and controls.
  • Develop and evaluate information and prepare recommendations based on analysis for decision-making.
  • Work on complex, high-impact projects as a technical specialist or advisor.
  • Test APIs using RESTful APIs and tools like Postman and Soap UI.
  • Create, update, and maintain test plans and cases.
  • Write test scripts in BDD (Gherkin language) and execute pre-written scripts.
  • Conduct test case reviews and ensure best testing practices are followed.
  • Communicate testing progress, results, and relevant information to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Utilize work management software such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Asana, or MS Project.
  • Support multiple testing campaigns simultaneously with excellent time management and planning skills.

Requirements

  • Experience testing APIs and using the API testing tool Postman.
  • Strong expertise in utilizing Postman and Soap UI.
  • Knowledge of test planning, execution, and defect tracking.
  • Ability to write test scripts in BDD (Gherkin language).
  • Knowledge of JSON/XML structures and SQL queries to validate APIs and database elements.
  • Experience in defect triage, prioritization, and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience testing APIs and microservices using Junit.
  • Knowledge of API automated testing frameworks such as UFT, Selenium, Cucumber, IntelliJ, or Java.
  • Knowledge in querying Splunk.
