About the position

The IT Trainer/Content Developer position at Learn Beyond Consulting involves delivering IT training to staff at the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). The role requires conducting both on-site and remote training sessions, developing training content, and managing training schedules within the GDOT Learning Management System. The candidate will collaborate with various GDOT business units to enhance training delivery and ensure effective learning experiences for adult learners.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver IT training to GDOT staff on custom and COTS applications.
  • Conduct on-premise classes and remote training sessions via Microsoft Teams.
  • Identify training needs and develop course content in collaboration with GDOT users.
  • Publish training schedules and manage learner enrollments in the Learning Management System.
  • Administer testing and track completions, grades, and certifications.
  • Gather feedback through training surveys to improve future training sessions.
  • Develop and maintain IT training content including presentations, guides, and videos.
  • Engage with technical staff to create effective training materials.
  • Maintain accurate recordkeeping for time, activities, and performance indicators.
  • Support the IT Training Team in delivering training across various applications.

Requirements

  • Experience in delivering IT training to adult learners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Learning Management Systems (Oracle/Workday).
  • Ability to develop training content using tools like TechSmith Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, and Articulate 360/Storyline.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with learners and stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel to various GDOT locations for on-site training.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with instructional design principles.
  • Familiarity with transportation-related topics such as contract administration and asset management.
  • Previous experience in a hybrid work environment.
