About the position

The IT Trainer/Content Developer position at the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) involves delivering IT training to staff on custom GDOT IT applications and Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications. The role requires travel to various district and area office locations within Georgia to conduct in-person classes, as well as the ability to conduct remote training sessions via Microsoft Teams. The candidate will receive training on the specific products used by GDOT.

Responsibilities

• Deliver IT training to GDOT staff on custom GDOT IT applications and COTS applications.
• Conduct on-premise classes at various District and Area Office locations in Georgia.
• Facilitate remote training sessions through Microsoft Teams.
• Develop role-based end user training content for IT applications/systems.
• Maintain training records within a Learning Management System (LMS).

Requirements

• 5 years of experience with Microsoft Office and Office 365 applications.
• BA/BS in communications, teaching, IT, or a similar field; or an Associate Degree with 2 years of IT experience; or IT Certifications with 4 years of IT experience.
• 4 years of work experience in IT technical training or with computers, technology, IT applications/systems, and/or end user client support.
• 5 years of excellent verbal and written English language communication, presentation, and teaching skills.
• 1 year of flexibility to travel within the State of Georgia for scheduled in-person training classes.

Nice-to-haves

• 4 years of work experience in developing role-based end user training content for IT applications/systems.
• 2 years of experience in instructional design, visual design, storyboarding, writing instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts.
• 2 years of experience with Adobe Captivate.
• 2 years of experience with TechSmith Camtasia.
• 2 years of experience with Articulate 360/Storyline.
• 1 year of experience with Microsoft Teams.
• 1 year of experience with maintaining training records within an LMS.
• Familiarity with Oracle LMS/Workday LMS.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow.
