About the position
The IT Trainer/Instructional Designer will deliver IT training to agency staff on custom and commercial applications, develop training content, and manage training schedules. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance training delivery and ensure effective learning experiences for adult learners. The position requires a strong background in instructional design and the ability to utilize various tools for content creation.
Responsibilities
- Deliver IT training to agency staff on desktop, web, and mobile applications.
- Identify training needs, courses, and content in collaboration with agency users.
- Publish training schedules and manage learner enrollments within the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Administer testing and track completions, grades, and certifications.
- Send and review training surveys to gather feedback for improvement.
- Develop and maintain IT training content, including presentations, guides, and videos.
- Engage with technical staff to create relevant training materials.
- Conduct virtual and on-site training sessions, webinars, and user group sessions.
- Maintain professionalism and order during training sessions to achieve course objectives.
- Ensure accurate recordkeeping for time, activities, and performance indicators.
Requirements
- 5 years of experience with Microsoft Office and Office 365 applications.
- 4 years of experience in communications, teaching, IT, or a related field (BA/BS or equivalent experience).
- 4 years of experience in IT technical training or end-user client support.
- 5 years of excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and teaching skills.
- 1 year of flexibility to travel within Georgia for in-person training classes.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in developing role-based end-user training content for IT applications/systems.
- Experience in instructional design, visual design, and storyboarding.
- Experience with Adobe Captivate, TechSmith Camtasia, and Articulate 360/Storyline.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams and maintaining training records within an LMS.
- Familiarity with Oracle LMS/Workday LMS and ServiceNow.
