About the position

The IT Training and Development Specialist is responsible for developing and creating technology-related courses for both e-learning and live classroom formats. This individual will utilize training and content creation platforms for developing e-learning courses and will be responsible for training on the proper operation of computer equipment, hardware devices, and software applications. They will create materials to be used for IT-associated programs and knowledge articles, and will handle the initial IT onboarding and follow up with new, transferred, and promoted campus coworkers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and create technology-related courses for e-learning and live classroom formats.
  • Utilize training and content creation platforms for developing e-learning courses.
  • Train on the proper operation of computer equipment, hardware devices, and software applications.
  • Create materials for IT-associated programs and knowledge articles.
  • Conduct technology-related trainings for end users in person or via video conferencing.
  • Develop and maintain eLearning content and modules.
  • Provide training/instructions on how to efficiently use or troubleshoot system applications to increase productivity and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with team to accomplish necessary training tasks.
  • Apply educational methods to engage trainees (e.g. gamification-based platforms).
  • Coordinate, schedule, and advertise learning classes for internal and external IT instructor(s).
  • Answer calls, emails, and chats from end users with questions or route appropriately.
  • Track the progress and monitor the completion of IT assignments for end users.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to prepare project requirements and schedule for training.
  • Create company-wide communications, digital signage, and knowledge base content.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Corporate Training, Education, Leadership, Communication, Business, or a related field (associate degree or equivalent work experience considered).
  • Experience with Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Captivate, and/or any other digital training/graphic design platforms.
  • Moderate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products desired.
  • Exceptional written and verbal presentation skills.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of personality styles and technical abilities.
  • Excellent proofreading and editing skills sufficient to produce publication-ready documents and videos.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Basic project management skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
